Links coming From Irrelevant Sites

Hello Readers

I'm running a website having PR-4 and also have good keyword positions on Google, Yahoo and MSN respectively. But I have seen that a webmaster of my website had posted out some questions regarding website indexing on to some search engine forums. Now he left the job, and I'm in a great trouble, that some irrelevant links pointing to my site. Can someone help me how to remove such links, as I do not have any access to the forums without having login or password.

Moreover, I'm a owner of <snip> site but there is another site of the domain name except a different extension (like .au) in a different category. They are doing automated link building without any concern. Please help me out how to remove such links, if I mail them to remove such links or what should I have to do?

Thanks in advance,

Bilal John

bilalseo, I would not worry too much about the irrelevant links so long as they are a modest part of your overall backlink profile. But you could always contact the site owners and request that they be removed.

As for the other issue, are you just worred about name confusion between the two domains, or are they somehow doing something that directly affects your domain, e.g., linking to it?

There are millions of cases where one site runs on a .com, another on a .net, and so on, mainly/especially with generic domains. Usually the .com benefits a bit from the rest from mistaken type-in traffic and occasional mistaken link, but that is typically the extent of the problem, unless one site is intentionally trying to mislead consumers into confusion between sites.

Don't worry about that. The sites are different, and it's only one link. Just keep building up your site, getting more links etc. You should be fine.
