I run a website that is focused on covering [snip]. The site has been up for a year and posts daily content primarily in the form of [snip]. We have about 50 feature stories and 500 [snip]. We had not implemented keywords on our pages until several weeks ago. This seems to have helped us receive some referrals from the search engines. However, only a few of the feature stories are giving us the referrals. About 3 of the 50 features have shown up consistently. And our reviews don't seem to be popping up in the search engines at all.
The structure of the site is as follows. The Homepage features the latest 5 [snip], 4 features, etc. To reach the next level of features you click on features and all the prior features are listed.
To reach the next level of reviews you must click reviews and then the letters A-Z are displayed. Then you must click on the letter of the [snip] you are looking up. Then those [snip] that start with that letter appear and you click on the [snip].
My main problem is getting referrals from the search engines to find my review pages. I don't think I've received a single referral for any of the 500 reviews. Is it because I have too many levels before the archived reviews are found? There are several very successful sites that seem to have a similar structure.
Thanks!

You need to keep everything as close to root as you can and you certainly don't want to go beyond 3 down if at all possible. I have all my sites going only 1 folder down and the search engines always love them.
How much further past root do you go?
Simon.
<edit> just saw this was your first post, welcome :) </edit>

ditto on the welcome
<<<How much further past root do you go?>>>
I go down 2 levels from the root. Homepage->A-Z->[snip]
This does seem to be part of the problem.
<<<Perhaps it's the structure of the pages. Are the session ID's preventing spidering?>>>
My feeling is that this is correct. I think that the session ID's could be part of the problem too. I'm going to refer both these suggestions to my webmaster.
Here is what a typical [snip] review page looks like on my site. I'll use the [snip] the [snip] as an example:

Here is what the CD review looks like on another site that sort of competes with my site:
