I came across a web site where you could submit articles [for free] you have written and this site would publish them and also send them out to other sites and through RSS feeds to try and get them published elsewhere. They allow you to attach key words to the articles and have up to 3 self-serving links in the article plus your resource box, which also can have a link back. Now the idea is that if you write a good article and it gets picked up by other sites as well as being published on this site that you could potentially get a lot of good inbound links.
Now the question, what is the general opinion of everyone...
Is it better to put your articles out on a service like this where it could be published on other sites and will most certainly be used as ad generating content on other sites, but you get good inbound links or is it better to keep those articles on your site and hope that people find them and as a result link to you so that you have good content on your site and inbound links?
On my site the idea of keeping the content has not really been working well for me. After almost 2 years my inbound links are bit weak, but I have a lot of decent content, that really isn't being fully utilized, so when I came across this service it sounded good, but then I was wondering if I am giving up some of the best stuff to others, which should stay on my site.
What are others thoughts on this?
