I am creating a website rich with content about divorce legal issues.

What is the best way to convert visitors on this site to buyers of legal services and some do-it-yourself legal products?

I thought I could place internal banner ads on the right side of the divorce legal articles about free legal consultation, as well as another ad below for a free ezine and free reports with email capture. I would also advertise my topical blog about divorce legal issues as well.

When visitors click on the link for the free legal consultation, they will go to a companion site...a short landing page that sells the benefits of a free legal consultation. This landing page, a separate domain, would also highlite my other creditials and expertise.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Tom

Why two sites?

Why not save resources and consolidate gains by doing it all on one site?

You could do it on two with no harm. But then you might be tempted to make it three, four or n sites - and sooner or later, you'll find them all banned without knowing why.

Much better to have one strong site than several weak ones at risk of an SE ban.

I think splitting commerical services from free content can work well for some circumstances. This might well be one of those.

In the first instance I'd position leading links at the bottom of articles in a friendly manner, so after an article about 'Ownership of Widget Assets' you would have a link saying "Have you been affected by Widget Asset ownership disputes or would you like a free legal consultation on the matter?"
