Optimizing html tags

Hi, to start off my sites doing great in SE's at this time.
Id like some information on how important the <h1> and so on tags are for page optimization. I currently dont use them at all on my site. What I am really interested in though is the <body> is more content relating to description and keywords better for SE's?

I have my keyowrds twice on my homepage in the <H1> tags. I have a page rank of 5 out of 10. However i still do not come up on the search engine for my keywords.

My suggestion is that H1 tags are useless.!

Hi,
This is from the W3C [w3.org] concerning the tag structure.

The tag is important. It allows you to describe to the SE's what the important on-page information is.

Use the <h> tags. It will also help you to structure the page for your own use.
