Promoting mutiple domain websites

Hi

I want to understand how can we promote a site which is having multiple domains to cater to different audiences.

Issue that I am facing is - where should I host the site. Target site is currently being hosted in france and there is a english version of the same. So should I get the hosting in Uk or France. What are the factors based on which I should take the decision.

If i understand correctly you hold multiple domains that point to the same website. In this case make sure that Page rank is not divided between the different domains, in think having multiple domains other than change in extension(.com) isn't good idea.

I have domains which are xyz dot com , xyz dot fr, xzy dot nl etc in different languages having same content.

Now here are two issues

1- Would google penalize if content is same but in deifferent languages
2- Should I go for different host countries for different domains?

I think your different websites cannot be penalized as the search engine are not that smart they can understand the different language and match whether they are same or not? however there may be some trouble when similar language are using same technical keywords.

As by creating sites in different language you intend to cater the local peoples, in this case if you host the site in different countries that would definitely boost your SERP in regional search option, this is observed in my experience one of my site which is never before 1000+ SERP come in the top position in regional search.
