I have recently started a informational blog that will not include adsense or any profit making features. It will be seperate from my e-commerce site.
So...
I want this blog to gain as much exposure as possible. I have a list of ideas currently but am hoping that someone will point something out that maybe i overlooked or haven't heard about. We are using wordpress for the blog.
1) Define a list main keywords/phrases we'd like to be found for
2)Use Wordpress plugins to add relevant title tags, meta kw/desc,H1 tags & urls
3) Submit a sitemap to major SE's
4) Submit blog to google/yahoo/msn & dmoz & other quality directories
5) Use pingomatic to update blog aggregators
6) use feedburner to allow easy subscribing & linking
7) Comment on related blogs and use links back
8) obtain inbound links with keywords
Any other hints or tips?
Nice initiative of yours, congrats.
Your list points out some of the basic promotional tools. There is almost nothing I can possibly add but the main idea of every blog - provide intriguing, captivating content *regularly* (I know I'm not reinventing the wheel but anyway, important tactics need to be told and retold).
