Hi I have found a site thats currently very close to the top of google for seo keywords and it offers submission to 75000 search engines. Is this worth while to do?

NOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooo

For one reason, there aren't 75,000 search engines.

2) Any search engine worth it's salt, no longer needs you to submit to it. If you are linked to from other sites, it will find you that way.

Submitting to search engines hasn't been necessary for a number of years now. Those sites that promise to submit you to X number of sites are and, for the most part, have always been a complete rip-off

The "absolute" only reason it is there is due to the sheer number of backlinks obtained from when they were heavy into search engine submissions. I've watched that site for years and am amazed that it positions where it does. It is purely driven by links.

No, there is no such thing as search engine submission anymore. It died with automated link exchanges years ago. ;)

Argh, its so frustrating, they offer good rates to sort my website out and garantee it will have 20 top tens in 6months. I cant figure out all the seo stuff myself to get my site where it needs to be. He says my keyword isnt too competitive at 715,000 google results for that word. I just dont know whether to pay someone else to do it. If they did get me in the top 10 and I stayed there long enough I know I could afford what I have spent but how sure can I be that I will get there?

Bambi, SEO isn't about the SE's finding your site. It's about what they think of your site, after they find it.

FWIW, the number of results in G is only a vague indicator of difficulty. Difficulty has much more to do with how much money is in the category, how much money clicks and/or actions go for, and who's chasing the top spots. ;-)

I can only think of three search engines, Google, Google and Google.
