Hi

I am new to all the search engine stuff for websites and need some guidance. I have site stats for my website and would like to understand them more, basically, how do I find out more about people who are visiting my website.

On my stats I have hits, files, pages, visits and sites.

What is the most important figure that I should be looking at to measure my site activity?

Does anyone know of any info sites that I can read more on this topic?

Thanks for your help and guidance on this :-)

Cherry

I sent a sticky with url.

Do a search on "emetrics" or "web metrics" "web roi" etc and there is a ton of info out there.

Hi Cherry,
Be sure to take a peek into the Tracking and Logging Forum [webmasterworld.com], lots of good info, as well as it's Library (There's a link at the top of the page for each forum)

What stats are most important? Depends. I like tracking unique visitors on a monthly calendar basis, meaning people who haven't visited you for at least a calendar month. This will tell you what direction your site's momentum is taking.

Keyword phrases is important, as well as search engines and referring urls.
