Hello,

I noticed a website that has got several keywords on the html, in a Div that is only used by a swf File.

e.g:

<div id="flashcontent" style=" margin-top:75px; padding-left:25px;">
<img src="images/web-noflash.jpg" width="246" height="169" />
Keyword1, Keyword2, Keyword3, Keyword4, Keyword5, Keyword6, Keyword7, Keyword8 Keyword9, Keyword10, Keyword11, Keyword12 Keyword13
</div>

I suppose that those keywords only would appear if the visitor doesn’t have Flash Installed, am I right?

My question is, if this is white-hat technique and I if I could use it for example on images or any other div.

Let me just add that some keywords don’t even appear on the visible content, but they get #1 rankings for that keyword.

Thank you, i would appreciate all the help i could get!

Many sites serve content in an alternate format when they have Flash on the page. Sometimes they give into the temptation to "pad" the alternate content a bit, and it often seems that today's algos do not catch it automatically. However, this is a form of deceptive cloaking and most likely will not pass a hand check. I know of several cases that were penalized by various engines for this kind of thing.

Thank`s Tedster for your reply.

I thought that too, and that´s why i asked, the problem is that i made a report of 2 sites, and one disappeared but this one didn’t..

And this site is #1 on a keyword that is very competitive.

And now i`m having second thoughts if this is legal or not. Because if it is i would start doing it too..
