Suppose in a webpage i have described 5 links with a one line or max two line description (eg given below)and have repeated this in all my pages...would this be considered duplicate content? if so anyway around this?

Duplicate content is essentially duplicated pages, where several pages all contain the same information. Search engines consider this to be clutterring the web, and when they detect it as often as not only index one of the identical pages.

Almost every site legitimately has text that is identical on every page, such as a navigation menu. No problem here.
