Two companies on my books

But they are in the same niche.

Both have good SERPS, good CTR and are doing well as a result of my hard work, So I am happy right? wrong! - they are actually viewing oneanother as net competitors and have found out that I produced both of their websites because I like to be credited with the design on the site to increase my kudos.

So now they are both expecting to do better than one another for the same keywords when both of the companies are in the same area doing the same job. What do I do?

----------------

OK this is a fictional scenario, but I am about to take on a new job - in a niche where a known competitor(new client) wants a site produced to a similar vein as another I have already completed - should I go ahead and see what happens - bearing in mind the new client is well aware of the work I have produced for the other company. Or should I let the previous client in on the job in hand explaining my predicament and the possible outcome?

Hmmmmm - hope that made some sense

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

We have teamed up with a few respectable competitors ourselves and where we have a potential clash of interests, we pass our competitor names on to the potential clash.

They do the same with us.

All very informal, but shows integrity.

Yes - a small monthly fee for link development, updates and changes.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

Agreed. It would probably be sensible to inform the previous client of the work I am taking on. I feel I should show them loyalty.
