Hi,

I have been using Blogger to create 2 blogs that each have about 50 - 200 uniques a day. I have posted quite a lot of content and the blogs have been online for about 1 year. Yet, there are hardly any traffic from search engines. One blog is PR3 and another is PR5. Should I move to my own domain? Will that improve search rankings? I am only familiar with the simple Blogger templates. What program do I use to create a decent looking site and how do I learn it? Is it much harder than using Blogger? And any suggestions on where i should host it?

Do blogs get the same attention from search engines as normal sites?

Thanks

Pro
Blogs have inherent promotional aspects that make them easier to attain links from other blogs if you are conscious of the community nature of blogs.

Con
Links generally limited to other blogs
May be perceived as strictly opinion
May be perceived as less authoritative than an info site
May be perceived as less authoritative than a news site

That's just off the top of my head.

That is a tricky one. Are you blogging for a purpose? I mean are you blogging about everything or are you blogging about a particular subject? What is your ultimate goal with your blogs? Are you trying to make money off those blogs or are you trying create backlinks to other sites?

Google will now host your blog on your own domain
