Could someone inform me how the search engines work regarding this matter and what is the best method to get the rest of the pages indexed?
I have added a Google xml site map but this seems to make no difference. I noticed the same problem with Yahoo and MSN. Getting indexed is not a problem, getting the rest of the pages is?
I was thinking of adding a general site map to see if this helps or does the search engines just take time for them to come back and index the rest of the pages?
Just a guess, but your problem is probably backlinks. The more (relavant) links there are to your homepage, the more likely the spiders are to spend time crawlling deeper into your site.
The more deep links into your site the more likely the SE's are to index not only the target page but other associated deep pages.
Get more links. And, make sure that your internal site links are readable, and that your internal nav structure makes sense.
These are new domains so I understand that is a going to be a time period on this I was just thinking what it may be if I continue to get backlinks in?
Your all pages which you have mentioned in your sitemap.xml will be indexed in with in one month. If you want bit more fast results then submit all the pages individually in directories, make sitemap.xml & urllist.txt and verify these from Google and Yahoo. It will improve your indexing. Just try it and see the results.
