Just bought a domain name (A) with no content. The domain has about 7-800 pages indexed on google and an existing PR for the index page.

I want to use this domain name to promote another domain name I own (B). What is the best way to do this?

1. 301 Redirect all traffic from A to B.
2. Redirect all internal pages from A to A index.html (page with an existing PR) and create links from A index.html to B. One link to B index.html or multiple links to various B internal pages.
3. What else?

Your advices are highly appreciated.

I'd go for the 301. From domain and www.domain.

And check you have a decent, user friendly 404 page to catch any lost visitors.

If I go with 301, will that somehow transfer part of the existing PR to the new domain name?

The most profitable, and hardest way, would be to create a content site on that domain, then advertise your main site on it.

*ducks in fear of MFA-type-site critizism, but hey, if it works and is legal...

i'd get a ghost writer and set up a new site if the domain is an oldie. little bit of links should help and you could get more than one site into the serps. to make it more secure, host the site somewhere else.
