Hi

I have a new ecommerce store and I am doing some SEO. For the home page I have 18 words in the page title. 3 of those words are repeated 3 times but to describe different products I am selling. Am I over doing it and will I get punished considering I do sell a wide range of products.

Also below the header I have a little 2 line introduction to my website surrounded by <h1> tags. The key words used are almost the same as in the page title. Once again do you think I am over doing it?

Finally do you think I should have a paragraph lower down on the homepage in <h2> tags describing my site in a bit more detail?

I appreciate any help

Thanks

Tahir

18 words is way too much. I try to keep everything under about the 63 characters for Google. It's a good form of discipline to keep the page focused as well.

You won't get punished. You're just diluting your home page relevance by trying to get everything on one page.
