Hello Friends,

Sorry for my poor english. I'm Brazillian Webdesigner and I use very the meta-tags to try the best positioning of my site. But I have some doubts on about which meta are really important and which are insignificant. I use the meta-tags below, normally:

<META Lang="pt" NAME="Description" content=" ">
<META Lang="pt" NAME="Keywords" content=" ">
<META NAME="abstract" CONTENT=" ">
<META NAME="Generator" CONTENT="CuB - www.cub.com.br">
<META NAME="revisit-after" CONTENT="15 days">
<META NAME="Googlebot" content="all">
<META NAME="robots" content="INDEX,FOLLOW">

My doubts are the following ones:

1) the meta-tags "revisit-after" really works? If works, what's the difference in placing 3... 7... 15... 30 days?

2) the meta-tags "index, follow" works as would have or, in any way, spiders will go to index my site?

3) There are any additional meta-tags that I could add, that would help to include, specially, in the Google, that is most important for my customers?

Really Thanks and See Ya'!

No, this meta-tag has no effect.

2) the meta-tags "index, follow" works as would have or, in any way, spiders will go to index my site?

To index a page and follow links on the page, is the standard behaviour. You don't need this meta-tag. Use it only if you want to disable indexing or don't want the spider to follow links on the page.

3) There are any additional meta-tags that I could add, that would help to include, specially, in the Google, that is most important for my customers?

Description and keywords are the only two you should spend time to put in. They will not matter much, if anything, with respect to ranking. The Description meta-tag will sometimes give you a better looking entry in Google search results, while Keywords may matter for some search-engines, but not Google.
