This is probably one of the most asked questions...but I'm still unsure because half say this and half say that.
I've been getting my sites indexed by using subdomain.domain.com...but I saw a guy who completely ruled his keywords by constantly using domain.com/search-term/page.html He even used a plural as in domain.com/search-terms/page.html to cover all bases. It certainly worked like a charm as he's #1 hands down. Maybe this wasn't the complete reason but I'm sure it helped.
So, which is it?
Thanks

My POV - Depends on the keywords and the site (and maybe domain).

I think the domain thing has greatly depreciated...but folders still seem to work...at least for this guy.

Anymore opinions?

Not from this seat.

You can capture the top 10, 20, 50 results with sub-domains if you know what you're doing. I don't see the same with sub-directories.....especially in Google.

Because of the difference in the domain name itself, or because of the difference in site structure?

Maybe he's using keywords in the subdomain, domain, and folders:
key-words.key-words-domain.com/key-words/page.html
I think he wants to keeps us guessing...It's all very hush hush...but I'll give it a shot
