Using scripting to read contents of url & output ammended version

It works but is it "legal"?

Hi

I recently signed up with an affiliate scheme to sell their product. As their pages seemed to have more detail for each of their 3000+ products than I could find or possibly be bothered to input I've used PHP scripts to read the main body of the pages into a string and output it as part of my page.
I'm doing this so the content gets spidered as content is good, right?

Now as far as I can tell the owner of the content doesn't care how their product is sold, my concern is whether this is frowned upon be the SEs.

Anybody tried this method? any opinions?

Chris

You may run into some duplicate content issues. Are you adding any unique elements to these pages?

Do your URLs have loads of special characters? Are your URLs very long?
