Content is King. Link to more content?

Credit for content you link to?

We know Google likes lots of good content, but do you get "credit" for content that you link to off-site?

Maybe at least partial credit?

I think you would since this is providing an additional resource of information to your visitors.

I don't know if you get brownie points just for linking out, but well-crafted links and descriptions can add keyword-rich content to your own page(s), and you'll benefit from that.

Last I heard you do get credit for links out, but it's esential for you to have your keywords in the anchor text.

But, since content is king, why not add the content to your site and link to them as the source? Or if they wouldn't like that (some people do), you could extract a paragraph as a "lead in" to the article, and link out. This is even better than just linking out.

Turn the links into content. There's a site I visit daily that is essentially a collection of links to articles around the web. Along with the link they'll take a few paragraphs to describe the article, and another paragraph or two with their own spin on it. I go as much much for their spin as I do the articles.
