Thanx for the link nick....but i have already read that...I have been lurking aroun ww for months, read most of the articles here and thanx for the welcome :). The thing is, my website is already online since a year now and has a page rank of 5 (is that good)? ...i want to go for atleast 7..hehe. Thats why im redesigning the whole damn site. I want this one to be "more than" just perfect. So i would like to know in details what can do for the perfect homepage...i mean how to setup site maps ...should they be in all the pages....how the structure of the site should be(what do u mean by structure of the site?)what links should be on the toip of the page, what kinda navigation is the best etc etc. Im a newbie, so please excuse stupid questions.

Forget about PR :: It means NOTHING. As long as you have 5+ it's just not worth chasing IMO.

I can't give you the answers to all of your quesitons. It's not an '1hr science' but I can tell you that all you need is right here. Just trawl through the librarys of the appropriate forums for great theads that'll help.

Good luck!

>PR

It's all about incoming links. Incoming links with good anchor text, NOT PR (in general terms..).

IMO, those obsessing over PR are wasting their time, and Google encourages this...

I couldn't agree more Nick_W, anchor text rules :o)

If PR was the be all and end of ranking in Google they wouldn't release a toolbar with a PR function.

Exactly. PR is nothing more than an indicator, not to be taken as a reality check on how good a site may be regarding SEO, hence sites with PR2 pages kick into touch PR5 sites, due to it not being important.

Three words for today. Planning - Development - Analysis (forget about the toolbar).
