Hi all,

We all know that WW is the best online resource for SEO techniques/tips/insights/what’s happening/etc

*But* does anyone know if there are any books in the pipeline or already published dealing with SEO? The only one I can find or as near to SEO is Search Engine Visibility
by Shari Thurow (anyone used this?) or does anyone have another reference book that they could recommend?

Thanks in advance,

-gs

Hi,

i cant think of many books about SEO, but there is one called something like "100 google hacks" but i cant remember who wrote it.

Most books will be out of date by the time you've read them twice. SEO moves too quickly. But i think your spot on just visiting WW, dont waste money on books.

Not to my knowledge. But, if you are thinking of writing one, put me on the list.

I would think a "virtual" book would be spot on here, where, as SEO changes, the book changes - this in turn leads to a recurring revenue stream from future updates - sounds like a software company where you will always need the latest update to take full advantage!

Perhaps I'll write a "virtual" book because I like recurring revenue!

My 2 cents... WFN :)

There is a book called Search Engine Positioning by Fredrick W. Marckini. Although there was some good information in that book, a lot was somewhat dated. I have personally been able to find more information browsing through the WebmasterWorld forums.

This had been another Reading Rainbow moment. ;-)

We have had this discussion numerous times. There are plenty of SEO, SEM, Online Marketing, Online Advertising, etc, etc, books out there, but I think it is safe to say that 95% of them are outdated by the time they are published.

Some of the information in these books stay relevant or up to date because it is very general, basic information that will hold true over time. There are plenty of websites out there with lists, reviews, and ratings of these books.

I think you mean Google Hacks written by Tara Calishain & Rael Dornfest. Well, that's the one they sell at Google Store. I didn't read it, but if Google is selling that book, then it should be a good one.
