May Dreamweaver templates disturb PR?

Dreamweaver manage templates and libraries .lbi, I used it in the past but I'm not sure of how could that affect page rank, if search engines will 'like' that code.

specially with .lbi objects, since I want to put my nav bar with links there I'm worried about it..

any experiences?

Can't tell you how it would effect PR, but that’s not so important these days ;)

I can tell you that search engines like nice simple standard code, the closer you come to 100% validation the better. Any thing that clogs up the page and isn’t 100% necessary is best deleted.

In my experience, Dreamweaver templates do not affect PR at all. They don't add too much in the way of extra code except for the <!-- #BeginEditable "content" --><!-- #EndEditable --> where you have the editable regions for content on the individual pages.

Not so sure on the libraries, someone else should be able to shed some light on that.

I use a lot of DreamWeaver libraries and have never noticed any problems.

From the point of view of a spider its just a few comment tags so while it might add a little to code bloat its not going to have any other effect that I can see.

I use Dreamweaver exclusively, and have not had any problem getting sites spidered and listed. I use the library feature, esp for bottom nav. text bars, etc. I do believe that you cannot change title or meta tags using the template feature though. This would restrict optimization of individual pages, and make all the meta info the same for all pages in a template.

I do believe that you cannot change title or meta tags using the template feature though.

You can add a default title into a template, and it will bring it up as an informal editible region with the default title included when you make a new page using the template.

Meta tags were a different animal with DW4. To be able to change metas on different pages using the same template, you needed to install a specific extension from Macromedia. I believe this has since been changed in DWMX.

Thank you all! By the way... how do you reply with quotes in this forum... I assume the gray square is done with some code style...
Would you mind to help my postings?!
I will use it a lot!
