Hello, I have been asked to create a website for a friend's company. The problem is that the keywords they want are quite competitive and I was wondering what the best approach to take is, should we try and battle to get a good ranking for the keywords we want? If so what are the quickest ways?

Please Help!

Thankyou

Ben

Ben, in a case like that do your keyword research and start out with less competitive keywords and phrases on interior pages. Work your way up, starting with the easiest.

It sounds like going for a good number of lesser phrases and words would work, which is never a bad idea. Besides, some of those specific three and four word phrases can be very targeted and do pretty well.

There's no quick way, check into PPC also as an alternative for the more competitive and concentrate on conversion and good link development. It takes time for some sites to build up.
