1)I have a Search Engine (SE) relationship chart that shows the SE’s and where the primary results, sponsored links etc… come from but I cannot figure out how the “premium Listings”(top 3 ppc listings) work. I see the Overture Bid results are the same on Yahoo and Info Space but they are different on MSN, I thought the premium listings meant you were at the top of MSN as well?
2)How do all these SE relationships work together? As I see Google adword results are suppose to show up on Nestscape and AOL? Looksmart-inktomi is suppose to show results on MSN, but overture covers the MSN SE according to it's site? yes I am confused!
3)With this situation above, how do properly estimate traffic for clients when the overture search tool count includes all the SE’s under it’s “results”? Are these numbers fairly accurate?
If any one could help it would be very appreciated as I am learning how these ppc systems work. Are there any good discussion links, or general web links?
Thanks, I should change my login name to confused!
Well, it sounds like you are providing some sort of SEO / consulting / traffic service, right? :)
Welcome to WebmasterWorld, have a poke around the archives, charter, forum libraries, etc - most of those questions have been answered before.
Though, if I may? Perhaps you should hire a consultant to teach you the ropes -> so you know when you are pitching a prospective client what goes on 'behind the curtain'.
Good luck, (site search link at top of screen).
I'd recommend the site search - for the engine you have in mind. Eg, site search for 'MSN search results' or similar.
And then, go through that for each of the engines you are targeting.
Though, we do have a commercial exchange forum [webmasterworld.com] if you are looking for some specific help, I'm sure that would work out well for you, depending on your budget, etc.
