There are only 3 search engines that don't play games--
they list my pages in a few days, don't make me guess
what they are up to, don't shuffle my pages around or
put them up then drop them suddenly, don't make me wonder
if they think I somehow spammed them.
These 3 no nonsense all business engines are:
1. Alta Vista
2. Snap
3. GoTo (I don't even submit pages to this one but it
somehow picks up new ones promptly anyway and
keeps them highly ranked indefinitely.)
I think the rest of the engines are run by little power mad
morons. All the talk here about them starting to ban doorway
pages may be true but why WOULD they when doorway pages help
people find exactly what they are searching for? If doorway
pages weren't helpful to searchers then I wouldn't be making
money from them. The rest of the serch engines need to
simplify and rethink the reason for their existence--to help people find what they are searching for, not to act like
private country clubs that are so choosey about who can join.
