re: [webmasterworld.com...]

It's still happening.

Who's got it wrong here? Google or the rogue website?

Hello Frank_Rizzo, based on Google's response in that previous thread, I'd say the rogue webmaster has it wrong. So, what do you do? If Google can't do anything about it, or won't, then I'd say it might be time to just let it go and not worry about it. It could be much worse. ;)

If your name is trademarked (or could be trademarked) just send the owner of the site a cease and desist letter claiming trademark infringement. A legal letter, and threat of legal action might make him remove whatever it is he's doing with your name. Without knowing the URL and keyword(s), it is hard to say exactly how he's doing it.

Something else to keep in mind, Google has been back and forth with the new index and a much older one - maybe you did your checking when it happened to be in the old index. Try checking the new one, and you might find that the situation has rectified itself in the new index, and he is not showing up for your name now.
