Preventing google to index parts of pages

Is it possible to prevent google to index and follow links on just a part of a page while still indexing and following links on the rest of it?

Hi Helena,

If I understand you correctly, there is no way to stop half a page from being indexed. Though it is possible to stop certain links from being followed. JavaScript links, where the link is defined in an external JS file could be the answer, though I haven't tested this for a while.
