Frames, IFrames and Shared Borders

Are in-line frames better than frames for SEO

I have used the site search facility and found confusing advice about the use of frames, iframes and shared borders and how they affect search engine effectiveness.

What's the current view of Google on these issues? What do folks recommend for constructing shared page areas these days for menus, etc?

I have just run the Search Engine World spider simulator on a site that uses iFrames and it says my browser doesn't support iframes. Does this mean the spider simulator doesn't support frames?

Still love to know whether Google "likes" iFrames or not.
