I recently added a number of documents to my personal web site, which has been indexed in google + FAST for over 12 months now.

The documents were provided in both word (.doc), acrobat (.pdf) and powerpoint (.ppt) format for convenience. I noticed that it took less than a couple of weeks for the .doc's and .ppt's to be indexed in google, and available as "View as HTML". The .pdf's were not indexed.

Not long later, 2-3 weeks?, the .doc's and .ppt's have disappeared from google, and the .pdf's aren't present either. I'm wondering if there is a problem that both .pdf and .doc/.ppt counterparts are exact in their contents?

My front page remains indexed in google/FAST, with the small one sentence description of the content.

Advice?

Hi mgream,

The doc's and ppt's might drop out and return every now and then. I have noticed that documents are sometimes unstable. In regards to the pdf's, I don't know why they havn't been indexed. Try searching the search engines FAQ on the subject.
