2 months isn't that long, especially if your site is new. Do you have any incoming links?

1. Submit to main engines (you've done that)

2. Wait.

3. Whilst doing (2), work on building links to your site - that is what will really help you in the search engines.

Spend some time in the Link Development forum here at WebmasterWorld and read through the posts to get some ideas.

Good luck!

Hi bison1947, welcome to WebmasterWorld.

Did you already get some links to your site? Or did you only do the 'add URL' at the search engines?

To craig_f

Probably a silly question, but what is this tag <added> Welcome to WebmasterWorld! </added>?

Hi FredP, I'm not Craig_F but I will try to answer your question.

At WebmasterWorld we usually greet new members when they post their first message. But sometimes you overlook the fact that another member's post-count is 1. Not greeting is a kind of impolite. So what Craig_F probably did, was editing his message after it was posted to enter the welcome text. Since other members (like bison1947) might have read the original text, Craig_F marked the new section with "<added>....</added>". The string

[edited by: <name> at <time> on <date>]

appears only if a message is edited after a new message was posted. Like you can see on the first message of this thread which was edited after the second message was posted.

<added>There is no such thing as a 'silly question'. Don't worry.</added>

Hi bison1947, depending on the topic of your site it can be difficult to find a link from a relevant site. You can try to get a link from ODP (http://dmoz.org), or search on Google for your keyword, open the page of your 'competitor' and click on <Page Info><Backward Links> to see where this site got the links from. Maybe you can also get a link from that page. To read more about getting links, follow the advice of dmorison in the third message of this thread and start reading at forum 12 (Link Development).
