Hello all,

Some of my competitions (some small some large) have much better rankings than me in Alexa. I know it is not that important, but I have tried so many different thinks to try and raise (or lower for that matter) our rating. Currently, we are in the high 100,000's, but one competitor in particualr which does less advertising that use is around 80,000. I do not know what else I could to to help. I utilize Overture, Lycos, Google, afiiliate programs, etc. I do not know what else I should do.

Anybody have any tips that would help?

Thanks,

Call up your friends, have them install the Alexa toolbar and click away on your site. You can increase your Alexa ranking with the toolbar and a macro. ;)

Beat me to it digitalghost!

....or maybe host your site with an isp which alexa can't differentiate between all the sites. I have a site with demon.net with about 30 visitors per day and an alexa ranking of 815.

Another thing to do is advertise the alexa toolbar on your site... visitors in your sector will install it and keep revisiting your site.

Another thought, some sectors, such as web design, will more likely have visitors with the alexa ranking installed, so they appear busier than other sectors. Or perhaps target a few Korean keywords, lots of Koreans have the toolbar.
