SEO and footers

I am going to be putting a disclaimer at the bottom of my pages and I was considering putting it in the footer.hmt page(s). Is this a good idea? Is the footer considered part of the page itself? So if my index.htm page is crawled, will it pick up the footer?

Yes the footer will be included in the page - if it is delivered as part of the page request.

If it is in a different frame then it won't be considered to be part of the page.
