Using language folders

Hi,

We have a website that consists of 9 different languages, in terms of internet marketing would we be better hosting all the pages (72 in all) at the root of the domain (i.e www.mydomain.com/index_espanol.htm) or uploading them into folders (i.e. www.mydomain.com/espanol). In terms of site structure it would be better to use folders, however would this inhibit the search engine spiders?

It might be worth mentioning that we plan to submit each language folder (i.e www.mydomain.com/espanol) to the relevant search engines should we opt to use folders.

Hi Lee,

If seperate domains is not an option I would for for folders; domain.com/language

If the content is truly translated and unique you should have no problem getting listed in directories as well.
