i've created a one of a kind site, it's obviously not a totally innovative idea but the site is specific enough in nature to set it aside from other sites. its totally database driven and its an interactive site for people basically with a sicker sense of humor. i'm very good with graphics, and my partner is very good with programming, the site is just about done now...

now i'm at the stage at which i'm contemplating what i should do as far as marketing is concerned. i've read a few "marketing basic" threads here but they deal with sites that are "content rich", well the site doesn't have any html files, its all php and the pages are dynamic. it is the type of site though that people would pass around to friends and such.

i'm kinda lost as to how i should go about promoting it. i'm thinking about paying an SEO guy, or paying for a source of traffic, i'm not quite sure.

help?

I would try to inspire word of mouth. How you would do that i dotn know. If you had a a list of email address, obviously consenting recipients, otherwise you migt be nearing a spammy situation.

IMHO if you hire an SEO guy he/she is just gonna write some content for you. So you might as well save yourself some cash by reading through Bretts post:

[webmasterworld.com...]

and then create some pages according to that and spend some time building up some nice healthy related backlinks.

Hope that makes some sense?

I too am in somewhat of a similar position. Although my site is primarily HTML and has content. It's a blending together of essentially what would be numerous sites all into one.

I'm interested in your site. Sticky me and we'll talk.
