Hi:
I have the chance to change my domain to a keyword specific .com. I know this is an old subject and I have read all the past posts on this subject. But I can't help but be tempted to switch from my companies name.com to KW.com. If you were selling blue widgets it is blue-widget.com. I see all the SERPS and it seems as though the top sites always have a keyword in their domain name. This domain is expired but has never had a site attached to it so no links go with it or PR. My current site has only been on line for 5 months but I have been able to push it quite high in the SERPS. My comany has been around for 35 years so we have quite a bit of customer recognition. What to do? I have a remodeled site in the works and I'm tempted to just start a new company or a subsiduary of our Corp. I know that the inbound links would help temendously for raising the PR so the temptation is great. Currently we have a PR5 and there are only 270k sites competing for our major KW but it is growing by 10k/month.

Why not create a real informative site and just brag about your company in the site. This has the added benefit of looking like PR. Or, make it look like your company is sponsoring the the site, but don't make it your site.

For new sites, I often use kw.com rather than company.com, but if you have a nice link popularity, you don't want to trash that.
