I've done some bad things and, they know it

But, I've changed my pages. Do SEs care?

I used some really obvious (in hindsight) tricks in the beginning. I discovered them myself but, it turns out they've been well known for a long time (I'm also working on this new invention called a "wheel").

When I check Google's cache, it has my old page with all the tricks cached. They have not come back. I have since changed everything (several months ago). I am now in the DMOZ and, Lycos, Search.com, Alta, etc have since been send a trickle my way. Will Google ever come back or, is my site black-balled? I've re-submitted with no luck. Do they treat spammy sites differently or, do they just rank them poorly?

What is the current position of the site in the serps?

Did it drop once your shady tatics were cached by Google?

Craig

CC-

I have been following the posts and threads here for some time. I have to admit that I have not learned how to figure out my PR or where I rank in the SERPs. I want to know these things but, most posters gloss over how they find out where they rank. I have taken up using the tips I can digest (all of which are have been bueno) but, I am still at a big loss in determining these things. So, it's hard to answer your question. The first and only time I was visited by Google was the once when they cached my original page. They have not been back since. Any links out there for finding out what my PR and SERP positioning is?/

THanks,
TJ

Tom.

Download the Google toolbar from here [toolbar.google.com...] you can then check your PR

As for finding out your ranking, the only way to do it safely is by hand, don't use any automated tools is goes against Googles TOB and could get you banned

Thanks, Tigger.

I didn't realize that was one of the uses of the toolbar. Guess I need to DL it.

Also look in the Google directory at your site to see if it has any PR :)
