If your site is already in the Google index, there is no need to resubmit your site. The google spider will find your site via incoming links and reindex your content. In my opinion, no need to resubmit. Focus on building a quality site for your visitors, and let the major search engines find you when they want to :)

amythepoet, once your in your there. no need to resubmit manually chances are youd have better luck getting reindexed quicker if you obtained more links to your newly redesigned site. A good way to increase links it to release a Press release on your version 2.0 of the site and submit it to sites that cater news to your nature.
