What is going on?

Hi everyone, couple questions.
Firstly: When/is Yahoo using Inktomi for primary results
Secondly: INK's search is not working, is anyone else having trouble
Thirdly: To prove my rank in INK i need to know if they give merit to the effort made or if the person with the bigger back pocket triumph in the searches?

I was getting weird results yesterday from the INK results @ [search.positiontech.com...] search links had no relevance to what I was searching :()

From what I hear it could be sometime before yahoo fully implement INK (but that’s just hear-say at present!)

Good question! Am not sure on their relationship with one another but you are guaranteed INK results on the positiontech site to be a good base to start with, for checking your ink position :)

PositionTech are simply a reseller of Inktomi's paid inclusion service (as they also are with Fast and Teoma) and have no particular ties to Ink.

Although I've no doubt a fair amount of PositionTech's revenue comes from Inktomi paid inclusion, I don't believe either company is overly dependent on the other - Inktomi has plenty of other resellers and PositionTech has a large portfolio of other products...

I know the last question is getting off the topic of SEP but an answer would be appreciated:) Also if I have good ranking on Yahoo in their primary results would anyone suggest that I maybe invest in Inktomi(ppc, pfp)so cause if and when they begin using inktomi wont my rankings be affected.

I would wait to see what Yahoo do they may do another juggling act and shift everything around so hold fire for now

Yahoo's primary results are drawn from Google so if (or is it a case of when?!?) they switch to Inktomi, your positions will naturally most likely change.

Bear in mind that you don't necessarily have to use paid inclusion to get into Inktomi - you can try to submit your site for free at [submitit.bcentral.com ] and chances are that as long as you've got inbound links from other sites, Inktomi's spider will find its way to your site anyway.

The obvious benefits of using the paid inclusion are the 48 hour refresh, which is great for keeping content fresh.

Right now you might want to think hard before parting with cash & see what Yahoo does in the future. Chances are that by the time they switch from Google to Ink, you'll have been included in Ink's index for free...
