[story.news.yahoo.com...]

I really think it is obvious that most of the media does not understand use SEO's (Search engine optimization experts), to top this off they fail to make mention of this in the entire article, who are they trying to help here?

All best

who are they trying to help here?

Most likely themselves....surely not the SEOs of the world.

This happens time and time again, and just recently happened with a Wall Street Journal article.

It is especially sad when the reporter or writer actually speaks with respected SEOs, gets their take on a given situation and run down of the industry, and then completely disregards what they say and writes something different and of less value.

I totaly agree, I did my part and wrote a story for Yahoo and the other editor and sent it to all of them trying to explain how smaller business and larger business could really benefit from serious optimization and marketing so they do not have to pay for click and waste so much money in the long run.

I suspect they may read it. Myself, last week I did a TV show on search engine placement for Adelphia Cable. Should be on sometime soon I think. I think it runs in Los Angles and any other Adelphia outlets nationwide.

I tried to stress the importance of not only a PPC campaign but also search engine optimization.

"I tried to stress the importance of not only a PPC campaign but also search engine optimization."

Since when was a PPC campaign important? I mean, for those of us who don't hold stock in Overture.

Rooster

I here ya, SEO is much better for a bang for the buck idea, it's on-going and hardly the cost of PPC. If people hire SEO's that are good (I think I am) then it's a much better idea.

That article was terrible. Very, very difficult to read - not usable at all.

Definitely missing the point of optimization. If you have a serious business and want to promote it online, the best bar none route is through SEO.

It's not that he was confusing people, Hollywood. Going a bit far there...

The issue is that he was missing the most important, long term, marketing opportunity online: SEO.

The rest of what he said was quite good - and nobody ignores PPC if it provides the ROI they want. :)

Grats on the TV show, btw.

I've been famous for a few years myself - let me know how it treats you. :)

couldn't resist, sorry Hollyword
