Just became a member! Looks like a great forum... amazingly I found it only recently while searching info on what bring me to post this first posting!

I have read many posts here on search engines promotion software, but must of them have a spin to do with how bad it is to use such software to submit sites... I agree with this.

As you all know keeping up with search engines and promoting sites to them can be a long difficult task, even more complicated when you have to do it for multiple sites.

That's where a good software would help. It could help organize/plan/keep track of the task of submitting (manually) a number of sites to a number of search engines (and possibly check ranking without spamming them). It should provide a framework to work to make sure it is done properly, regularly etc.

I have been researching this and found lots of possible candidates, here is some of the software of interest:

AddWeb ( [cyberspacehq.com...] )
Search Engine Commando ( [searchenginecommando.com...] )
Agent Web Ranking ( [agentwebranking.com...] )
Web Positioning Gold ( [webgoldposition.com...] )
Submit Wolf ( [submitwolf.com...] )

I have dowload trial version of Addweb and Search Engine Commando... and so far I am not sure these are the best...

What are your thoughts? Are there other softwares? Which one do you use...

Again the goal here is not to submit automatically to search engines (just emphasizing to avoid an unnecessary flood of discussion on that... ;) )

Thanks...

Jean.

Agree... you obviously know the implications.

Therefore I highly recommend Realtime cookie based tracking and logfile analysis software.

hmmm... site search seems to be not working but a search on >>maxamine<< which will bring up a number of comparable products (logfile analysers)

Cookie trackers... Hitslink is my preference.

Analysis here are:

Other members may have others possibilities.

Both Cookie tracking & Logfile analysers are 100% more effective than rank trackers, more robust, more qualified information, and hands down needed if you wish to succeed online.

not to mention - their use has no affect what-so-ever on search engines ;)

And sorry jeanjerome -- I forgot to welcome you to WebmasterWorld! ;)

Fathom, you bring up a good point...

One can evaluate it's search engines promotion success using log analyser etc... I had not think of it this way. Thanks!

But I am still interrested in finding or learning about the best tool to manage SE promotion campaign for multiple sites...

Jean.

A few weeks back I ran a 10 keyword search across all search engines for a potential client - I was in a hurry.

Google, Yahoo, and a few other results would not appear... this doesn't really mean anything other than potentially wasting your money.

Not going to debate the SE ethic issue -- but these software types don't do anything more than inflat egos or make a good day, bad.

Manual checks is worth the time.

That's the best advice I'll give -- from someone who bought them all - and used only 1 once in the past year.

BTW Jean you should edit out the links in your first post -- goes against WebmasterWorld TOS.

Fathom,

Agreed... but don't you think there would be value in a software that would help you keep track of manual submissions, help you schedule such work, help you keep track of each of many sites etc. Like softwares that help one manage his financial portfolio, or software that help manage projects etc.... only specifically built around SE promotion...

All the softwares mentionned provide some sort of "project management" features... from the one I tested none did a great job at it, hence this post trying to see what other busy webmaster are using...

Jean I think you'll need other posters here to help you out.

Receiving product selection advice is good - however, my qualified advice is stay away from practices that can potential harm your clients, and your relationship with them

As far as website management software - Maxamine is the best on the market (IMHO).

Fathom,

Agreed.

Hopefully more people will share thoughs on the subject... For some raison most thread found on this subject always end up being about search engine etiquette etc... Hopefully we will be able to keep it on track. Let's call it "search engine promotion managment" as oppose to just "search engine promotion"...

These days submission is such a minor part of the process that I don't really think that would be of a lot value, honestly. The days of managing submission schedules for dozen of search engines are over.

Personally, everything I need to keep track of I can do so with log analysis and Excel spreadsheets.

I am not sure submistion is such a small part of the webmaster job...

Despite the search engine consolidation, there is still value of spending ressources to be well positioned in the 5-6 main search engines. And any tool that help with that would be welcome...

Again the goal is not the submission part but rather the managment of the process when it has to be done for many sites...
