site revamp and Google

what happens now

I've changed the old version of my site with a new content rich, validated and optimized version. Nothing but clean methods were used. The site is already indexed in dmoz, google and most major SEs.

My question is how do I make google drop by more often than it does at the moment (which can't be too often because the site was left to die) and how do I make it index more pages. I know I must provide fresh quality content every few days but I don't understand how can google know I've added new content to the site so often if the googlebot only drops by once a month. Does it see the dates of the new pages?

Bottom line how does GoogleBot decide how many pages to index from a site and how often to come back to check for updates?

Also, currently my site has in all SEs a description by dmoz which is not very good. Now I have actual text on my splash page, a small paragraph focused on what the site is exactly about and a description tag. How soon can I hope my site's description in Google will be changed to portions of the above mentioned descriptions?

Thank you very much :)

attract googles attention.

1. get more incoming links from sites this is a sure fire away of getting gogglebot to visit. (in the really world it's just like going around and telling everybody in the street that you have revamped your shop, before long the press get wind of this massive improvement and pay you a visit.)

2.Keep adding new content all the time you want to give google a reason to keep coming back time and time again.

3. start getting deep links from external sources

Start working on your link popularity. Search for quality websites that are or may be willing to link to your website, and not only your homepage. Try to find websites that can also link to the second or third levels of your website as well. Also, remember to use keyword specific link text when posting or request links.
