Does having the keyword on URL help boost rankings?

I want to know how much it helps to have the keyword on the url, e.g. www.domain.com/keyword.html.

Is is worth changing the names of all the links in the site so they have the keyword in it?

There have been dozens of threads here about keywords in urls/and file names over the last few months.

You should be able to find some of them by using the site search function in the upper left corner.

Simple answer Sandra:

Yes, it does help. I don't think it has enough impact to warrant manually changing thousands of files, but it does have an impact.
