PR and external links

At the end of August I made about 20 links to my new site.
These are links from sites with topic very similar to my site.
In September these pages, which have link to my site, were in Google
index: I easily found them making query "My Site Name".
Query link:mysite.com returned zero links.
And PR was zero.

Two days ago there was big jump of traffic from Google.
And PR of home page jumped from 0 to 6.
At the same time query link:mysite.com still returns zero.

I wonder how Google calculates PR if it does not count links?
Or it calculates them but does not show them?
Does anyone alse noted similar inconsistency?

Google will only show you backlinks from sites with a pr of 4 or above, but it still counts the others. It may be a little soon after update to be sure about backlinks.
