We have just finished designing a new Computer Hardware site.
I was wondering if I could have people opinions of how it is likely to do in the search engines we have agreed on a keyphrase so it is not possible to change this. Plus any problems you can see with the site..

We also want to promote the site through other online methods
online PR, maybe affiliate schemes link swapping etc etc

So I am asking people for their views on how I should go about promoting the site in search engines and other methods.

URL [ultimate-hardware.co.uk]
visit the site, have a look around, tell me what you think???

Hope to here from people soon
If any one wants my email address I will give it to you.

Hi Adam.

I was looking at your site and I notice that you have Keyword and Discription Tags. I have found that adding a few other Meta tags like Author and Classification with keywords in them will help as well. I would also broaden my keywords. You only have 6 keywords/phrases. I know you must sell more than just those 6 things.. EG: Hard drives, memory, graphics cards,PC audio,CPU, Cpu Fans Etc. Those are just a few of the things that i saw on you sale page. I would also use some alt tags for that nice animated graphic that you have as well. Keywording and phrasing seems to be good in the body text. Make sure you have the same keywords phrases in the Keyword and Des Tags as you have in the body of the page..

This was just a fast look..

Hope it helps

Any other comments needed especially on download time can those on basic modems tell me what they think??
We think there may be a problem i.e it takes too long to obtain the first page thus putting potential users off..

Adam, remember you asked --but I suspect you already know the answer... it was slooOOooow. Nice design, catchy, but I never would have stuck around to wait for it.

Also, I didn't like the 'drag-to-scroll-right' feature. Hi-tech looking, but I don't believe in re-training users in order to use a feature.

In Netscape 4.7 I get this javascript error from your index page --

line 366:
theObj has no properties.

The download stopped when that error came up.

It's too slow on a 512k connection.

If you can speed things up somewhat I see a definite market for the site in the UK. The computer mags will just love it, make sure you get your marketing right in that area.

Hint: They are not adverse to the odd freebie

Adam, I have a DSL connection and it popped right in.
I realize most people don't though.
I loved your site--it is just what I always hope to
see on the internet. I want really hi tech futuristic
interesting graphics.
Now, as a marketing specialist I must say this is not
necessarily the best way to get people to buy stuff.
However, in your case your site makes it appear that
the products you are selling are the most up to date
ones available. My one thought is, do you want to sell
to those of us in the U.S.? If so give the price in U.S.
currency with shipping charges. Why overlook such a huge market?
