Multiple domains on 1 IP...

Will sites be penalized for sharing IP address?

I will be running multiple sites very soon. An excellent host I use allows me to add as many Domain names as I like to my account. I would then use ASP to re-direct each domain to their proper pages.

Example: www.example1.com and www.example2.com both share the same IP but are distincty seperate sites with unique content.

Will Google penalize me if I do this?

Will any other engines penalize me?

Thanks so much in advance.

Joe

Our experience shows that Google won't ban sites just for sharing an IP address however Google can ban an individual site and if that site shares an IP address, all site using that IP will be banned.

It's always best to have individual IP addresses, expecially when testing new methods of site promotion on Google.

Good luck :)
