A question from a complete novice.

Is there a way that I can utilize a high-ranking site to enable the ranking of another not so good?

As an example (www.mysite-1.com ranks extremely well within all major search engines. Site two (www.mysite-2.com ranking absolutely useless.

Both of these sites have no relation to each other therefore; visitor to number one site (index page) would not be interested in being redirected to site number two.

Although site number one ranks best because of its unique domain name, keywords and description it has however become redundant. At least for the time being.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld Tomkytes!

Since they are in different keyword markets and have no relation to one another, the only effect that your good ranking website can have on your bad ranking website is increasing link popularity and possibly its PageRank.

I would not recommend linking your good ranking website to the website with no rankings, as you may endanger the well ranking website. Instead, work on increasing the amount of keyword rich copy and internal optimization variables, as well as the external factors that affect ranking, i.e. link popularity, incoming link text, etc.
