Is Overture the SEO Dominator?

Is the SEO business dead?

Some of my clients are saying inktomi isn't worth it anymore and they are going out of business. They think that Overture is the only game left? And, SEO is almost dead!

What do you think? I'd be interested in your POV. What do you say to those people who think the above is true? And, how can we continue to justify decent fees as well!

Are those of us in SEO going out of business?

Inktomi can still provide a decent amount of traffic to your sites, as their results are currently on AOL, MSN, and more.

SEO, while changing alot, is by no means dead. Overture is not SEO, but is a valuable option for some additional traffic if you have the money to spend and can calculate ROI.

As Google has just made the deal with AOL to supply results to the portal, SEO has made a step forward, giving us more traffic without having to pay for spidering, pay per clicks, or a submission fee (For now!).

Google seems tough to submit to. Just stand by and wait for it to find you.

Any way to accelerate Google Spiders or help it to find a site?

Wrong thread for Google stuff, but the best idea is find a high PR site, and get a link from them. Google will favor pages it finds on its own, without submitting.

Overture is definitely a force in the Ad industry, (second in concept only to the sometimes annoying DoubleClick, IMHO) - but we shouldn't confuse SEO with PAYING for ads.

Google requires SEO..
Inktomi requires hardcore SEO.

Overture requires good copy and deep pockets - that's it.
