Hi All,

I'm looking for confirmation.

The more directories you have on your website the less the pages in those directories are wieghted. For example, if I had two sites each contain an identical page. On site A it appears in the site root and on site B it appears 3 directories down. The page on site A will be ranked higher than the page on site B. True / False

Thanks for your help.
Chris.

One directory down won't hurt you.

It's when you start going down 2-3 directories (as stated in the original post) that I've ever noticed trouble.

Not true.

Its all to do with the theming and linking of a site. As with most reasonable size site's 100 + pages. you will find money (making) pages 4-5 subs down. Yes their maybe a slight decrease but the trick is to keep the subs, money pages as high in authority with the search engines as the top pages.
