Server Side Scriping & SE's

What to consider when using server side scripting to generate HTML.

I'm new to using scripting in the "real world" and I don't want to damage my clients existing SE ranking. What kind of things should I think about when developing search/results pages using when using PHP, ASP, Coldfusion, etc. When spiders hit a page that calls a script, what do they get? Any advice or recommended sites to read up on this? My first PHP site is going live tommorow so I'm just making sure I don't do anything stupid!!
Thanks for any help!!

Try using Search Engine World's Sim Spider [searchengineworld.com] to see what the spiders see.

wow! that will be pretty handy. Is that some pretty involved coding to simlulate a spider that or is it just some "smoke and mirrors" play with server variables, headers etc? As I said I'm new to "real world "scripting, but know enough to hack it up and figure it out if needed.

thanks for the link. Very cool!!
